The wait is over! After a decade iRa has finally released his second record, which we like very much

Produced by our in house main man John Would who worked his usual magic along with Amy Wood providing as always a solid yet tasteful foundation and newcomer Kelsey Wood an opera singer who moonlights in the pop world, iRa sings of life over the past decade or two with a wide range of songs and musical tastes.

John most recently engineered at Stanley Recordings the Grammy nominated Album of the Year by Fiona Apple, “The Idler Wheel…” Amy is currently touring as part of Fiona’s phenomenal band.

Fiona Apple/The Inbetweeners/iRa/Ponyboy

Two exciting happenings are…happening in June;-) First off Fiona Apple’s new album which was recorded by our own John Would in our own Stanley Recordings Studios is about to be released! And even better, Amy Wood is touring this summer as the drummer in Fiona’s exceptional band! The world will finally get to appreciate the power, grace and style of Amy’s talent and we are thrilled for her!

Recently released in the States is the hilarious BBC series “The Inbetweeners” now showing on MTV of which all three seasons (U.S. version) were scored by John Would with Amy Wood.

Also on the horizon is the much anticipated follow up album by Stanley Recordings artist iRa which is due for release sometime this year with an accompanying video. Featured on the IRA record this go around are John Would, Amy Wood, and opera singing sensation Kelsey Wood.

And finally, John Would is working with Ponyboy on the follow up to their eponymous debut EP. Its like “Howlin Wolf meets Doris Day.”

New Studio Space!

Alot has been going on in the past year since our Stanley Recordings Showcase at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood on August 20, 2009. For one there is no more Knitting Factory, but the Biggest and Most Important News is that Stanley Recording Studios has moved to Echo Park (near downtown LA) into a spacious building with a roof terrace which was previously an art gallery. As you can imagine we have been busy constructing our new home in which to create the most dynamic sounds ever. And, in our new studio John Would has been recording Fiona Apple with Charlie Drayton in what will hopefully be her forthcoming release.
